Former Students
It's a great pleasure for me to hear from former students. Please don't ever hesitate to reach out, even if you just want to say hello. I'm always glad to write letters of recommendation and know that this process is a bit tricky for students who have not been in a course with me for a while. Please don't let this stop you from reaching out. Send me an email and I'd be glad to help strategize.
Inviting me to Give a Talk
I'm glad to share ideas about my research and teaching. To this end, I have given various talks related to my research. Lately, my favourite invitations have come from people who are either reading my work with their students or are interested in queer German studies.
Inviting me to Give a Workshop
I regularly host workshops on topics ranging from public engagement in language and culture studies to organizing collective support structures in academic spaces. I also facilitate curricular renewal conversations with faculty in various settings (ranging from individual courses to undergraduate and graduate curricula in language and culture studies).
Collaborations
I am fond of collective and collaborative work. If you are pursuing a project and think I would be a great comrade in your team, I would very much like to hear about it. Recent collaborations include international grant partnerships, co-teaching arrangements, multi-year research initiatives, and the development of various organizing infrastructures for language and culture studies.
Prospective Graduate Students
If you are interested in pursuing an MA or PhD in German studies at UBC and would like to work with me in some capacity, please reach out. You can find detailed information about our graduate programs here: https://cenes.ubc.ca/graduate/.
